U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement reported Thursday, October 2 in a press release, that two foreigners attacked their vehicles, after being in the United States illegally. One of the suspects rammed an ICE vehicle twice, before attempting to escape in his car. The other rammed an ICE vehicle once before attempting to escape on foot. Both suspects were apprehended.
In Norridge, Illinois, Miguel Escareno De Loera of Mexico reportedly hit an ICE vehicle twice, before jumping a curb and being stopped by a stop sign. In Bensenville, Illinois, Widman Osberto Lopez-Funes, a citizen of Guatemala, hit an ICE vehicle, and then fled on foot into his home, where he was arrested.
In an emotionally-charged written statement, Assistant Secretary of ICE, Tricia McLaughlin is quoted as saying:
“Thankfully, none of our law enforcement was killed in these deranged criminals’ attacks on law enforcement. This is exactly what happens Governor Pritzker, Mayor Johnson, and other sanctuary politicians demonize ICE and encourage illegal aliens to resist law enforcement.”
Inquiries in to Governor Pritzker’s office for a response were not replied to by the time of publication.
